Ans . Folk Music Folk music refers to a kind of music originating from the ordinary people of a region or nation and spread about or passed down orally , often with considerable variation .
It springs from the heart of a community . It is based on their natural style of expression . It is sung by the common people who are not actually trained musicians .
That's why it is not sophisticated . Generations of rural poets and composers created enormous tradition of Bangla folk music . This music contains a strong emotive expression of human love and separation .
Folk music is the combination of folk song , dance and tune that are created on the basis of culture , festivals , natural beauty , rural and riverine life . In Bangladesh , folk music has a great variety .
They are Bhatiyali , Bhawaiya , Baul and spiritual songs , Murshidi , etc. Folk music became possible for the contribution of some singers of our country .
They are Lalan Shah , Siraj Sai , Hason Raja , Abbasuddin , Abdul Alim , Radha Raman , Durbin Shah and others . The culture of different tribes such as Santal , Garo , Chakma , etc.
has also influenced folk music . Folk music has enriched our culture . Besides , many folk songs are about social inequality and poverty . Moreover , there are folk songs about the material world and the supernatural .
Unfortunately , we are forgetting and neglecting our rich and traditional folk songs .
